Date format in Deliverables Management

Why is it useful?

  • Improved Clarity: Using the DD/MM/YYYY format, which is more common globally, reduces confusion and misinterpretation of dates.

  • Enhanced Efficiency: Clear communication of deadlines ensures timely document reviews and submissions, reducing delays.

  • Consistency: Aligning with international standards fosters better collaboration with global teams.

Who would benefit from it?

  • Project Teams: Teams outside the USA, especially in countries like Australia, Europe, and Asia, would benefit from the familiar date format.

  • Project Managers: Ensures accurate tracking of deadlines and milestones.

  • Document Reviewers: Reduces errors in interpreting due dates, leading to timely reviews.

How should it work?

  • User Preferences: Allow users to set their preferred date format in ProjectWise settings.

  • Automatic Conversion: The system should automatically convert dates to the user's preferred format when displaying transmittals.

  • Clear Indicators: Include a clear indicator of the date format being used to avoid any ambiguity.

This feature is already available in Deliverables Management service. The date format in the service is taken from the language used in the browser. Since the date standard for Australia is DD/MM/YYYY, choosing "English (Australia)" language as preferred first language in your browser will switch Deliverables Management to Australian date format.
